2024 IU Black Philanthropy Circle Grants

Tuesday, August 20, 2024

Since the program's inception in 2018, the Black Philanthropy Circle (BPC) has committed $416,108 in funding to IU projects. The BPC strives to support Black students, staff, and faculty at IU as well as the Black community at large. This year’s grant awards support a range of university initiatives that focus on student leadership programs, career exploration in STEM and healthcare, and culture and art experiences that celebrate the Black community.

“The BPC continues to be an example of the impact philanthropy has on the support of Black students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and allies within the Indiana University and IU Foundation communities. This year, we are thrilled to increase our collective impact by providing over $99,958 in grant support and award fully or partially 14 of the 24 grant applications we received. We have visited some of our previous grant recipients to actually "see" how the funds are being utilized and continued to be impressed by the work and dedication they have for supporting Black students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the community at large. We are so excited to see the impact this year’s recipients will make.” - Pamela Miller Hatcher and Kevin Gay, BPC Awards Committee Co-Chairs
